Ethanol Distillation: We have received our local and federal permits to produce ethanol on the farm. We are now in the process of building a facility to house the components of the distillation process.

Organic Farming: We have started planting our seeds in cold frames. We have been building the cold frames on the farm and using a combination of composte and top soil to grow them in.

Website: The White Cap Village is getting a bit of a face lift this month. Not only are we changing the design but also adding and updating much of the content throughout the month.

Community Supported Energy Program (CSE): We are launching our CSE this month! Our updated website will allow farmers, businesses and indivduals to sign up and contribute to the program.

We have applied with a federal permit to produce ethanol on the farm. We are now in the process of working with the federal, state and local governments to finalize everything. We anticipate getting the approvals very soon.

We will be attending the upcoming "Alcohol Fuel for Energy Independence Workshop" in Nashville, TN, on March 19-21. Sponsored by I.I.E.A., for more info go to http://www.permaculture.com/store/alcohol_workshops.

We have applied for our first grant from the State of Connecticut. The New Energy Technology grant is offered once a year from the Office of Policy and Management.

What is Ethanol?
